LITHOSPHERE LAYER

Lithosphere layer is  the rigid, outermost shell of a rocky planet, and can be identified on the basis of its mechanical properties.

Types of rocks :
1.    Igneous rocks

Igneous rock is formed through the cooling and solidification of
magma or lava.

2.   Sedimentary rocks

Sedimentary rocks are types of rock that are formed by the deposition of material at the Earth's surface and within bodies of water. Sedimentation is the collective name for processes that cause mineral and organic particles (detritus) to settle and accumulate or minerals to precipitate from a solution.

3.   Metamorphic rocks

Metamorphic rocks arise from the transformation of existing rock types, in a process called metamorphism, which means "change in form".
